Obverse	MEINEN GÖNNERN UND -/ FREUNDEN ZUR ERINNERUNG. The medallist Johann Schwerdtner is sitting in his studio on a stool facing right. In front of him, on the table, are several medallist's tools. With his left hand, he holds an embossing die, in front of it a magnifying glass. Behind him, on the wall, are several framed works of his. At the bottom in the foreground are several flowers and leaves, above which is a ribbon with the inscription 1847 * EASTER * 1997. On the right is the helmeted coat of arms of the artists' guild. At the bottom left the signature J. SCHWERDTNER .

A putto is holding an hourglass in his right hand and a sheet of paper bearing a 17-line inscription in his left hand. Scattered around, in front of two laurel branches, are several documents (diplomas) bearing inscriptions and the artist’s medals. At the bottom right are two orders’ crosses.
